In late 2015, founder and director of Filamentive, Ravi Toor, recognised a need for change in the 3D printer filament market. After studying an environment-based degree and having run a 3D printing business previously, Ravi realised that the high quality filament in the market was not sustainable. The other recycled filament options were also not up to standard. Upon realisation, Ravi sought to create a new brand of filament. He wanted a product that simultaneously addresses environmental impact whilst still being of the highest quality to meet the needs of the 3D printing market.
Following support from the University of Leeds, as well as external funding awards and grants. Ravi was able to research, explore and develop his idea into action, establishing Filamentive, a company dedicated to providing recycled filament of the highest quality to customers all over the world.
We pride ourselves on the sustainability, precision, quality, and value of our filament. With a low environment impact, high quality filament and a friendly, customer-focussed approach, it’s no wonder we’re generating such a buzz in the 3D printing community. We are constantly looking at new ways to innovate and grow as a company to ensure we are giving our absolute best to our customers.
We know that there can be some trust issues when you hear the word ‘recycled’. But we are here to remove the confusion from the word itself. Filamentive was established to challenge the negative perception of recycled filament in 3D printing. Our careful selection of waste streams, state-of-the-art extrusion systems, and in-depth quality control ensures that Filamentive filament meets industry gold standard parameters for diameter tolerance and roundness. All products are RoHS and REACH compliant. Every spool we sell is visually inspected before despatch and confidence in our excellence is exemplified by our 90-day money-back guarantee.
As 3D printing grows, as will the market for filament, thus creating demand for even more plastic. We are addressing this environmental impact by creating new use for waste, whilst also providing you with some of the very best filament money can buy – a win-win!
