PETg (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) is fast becoming a favourite in the world of 3D printing. Combining the user-friendliness of PLA with strength and durability closer to ABS, PETg is ideal for both prototypes and end-use applications. It prints smoothly, has excellent layer adhesion, and resists warping – all with little to no odour.

To reduce the environmental impact of virgin plastic, Filamentive PETg is made with 100% recycled material wherever possible, sourced from verified industrial waste streams. This ensures excellent performance while supporting circular manufacturing practices.

Strong, reliable, and dimensionally stable, this is a go-to material for engineers, designers, and anyone needing high-performance 3D printing filament, beyond PLA.

✅100% recycled PETg – reducing plastic waste and environmental impact
✅ Excellent strength and durability – perfect for mechanical and functional parts
✅ Easy to print – minimal warping, strong adhesion, and low odour
✅ Compatible with Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, UltiMaker, and more
✅ Trusted filament UK brand – high-quality, sustainable 3D printing materials

Sustainability

Sustainability Profile: PETg

Product Overview

Material name: PETg (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-modified)

Origin: Thermoplastic polymer derived from PET (commonly used in plastic bottles), with glycol added to improve toughness and printability

Manufacturing location: European Union (using audited partner production facilities)

Environmental Credentials

Recycled content: 100% (percentage by weight; based on supplier material declarations)

Recycled Material: Post-industrial recycled (PIR) material recovered from controlled manufacturing waste streams

Carbon footprint: Supplier data indicates a significantly reduced carbon footprint compared to virgin PLA, due to recycled content use and localised production. Full life cycle assessment (LCA) in development.

Packaging: 100% recyclable cardboard spool; spool-less refill also available. Check local guidelines.

Shipping: Manufactured in Europe, warehoused and distributed from the UK. All non-palletised shipments use DPD’s carbon-neutral delivery service, reducing transportation emissions for UK and EU customers.

Circularity & End-of-Life

Biodegradability: PETg is not biodegradable in home or industrial composting environments. Its environmental value lies in durability and recyclability.

Recycling: PETg is not currently accepted through Filamentive’s recycling scheme. However, it can be mechanically recycled by specialist processors, subject to local facility capabilities.

Disposal/reuse guidance: Reuse is encouraged where possible. PETg is not widely accepted in UK kerbside recycling schemes – please check with your local authority or recycling provider for appropriate disposal or recovery options.

Certifications & Standards

ISO: Production partners operate under certified quality and environmental management systems (EMS) such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

RoHS & REACH compliant: Free from restricted and hazardous substances, in line with UK and EU regulations

Internal testing: Every batch is tested for extrusion consistency and dimensional tolerance. Material is verified on in-house 3D printers to ensure reliable print performance and minimal variation across colours and batches.

Supporting Sustainability at Filamentive

Filamentive offers recycled alternatives to virgin 3D printing materials – helping businesses reduce their environmental impact while maintaining print performance. Our PETg supports your organisation’s circularity and carbon reduction goals, without compromising on strength or reliability.

Used these as part of a huge project early in the pandemic to 3D print 8,755 items of Prusa Face Shield PPE.
Consistent, with zero issues, we used 100’s of kg of filament!
